Release I Release II Release III

For nearly 15 years, Amani Children’s Home has been dedicated to the protection of Tanzania’s most vulnerable population, street children.  Amani, which means “peace” in Swahili, was founded by Tanzanians, and over these past years has rescued hundreds of children from the perils of life on the streets, where they face numerous dangers including malnutrition and abuse.

Since 2005 the Porter family has been proud to support the Amani Children's Home in Moshi, located at the base of Kilimanjaro.  In 2009 the family decided to create a wine to share and spread the awareness of this amazing organization.  A donation of 100% of the cost of production and sales of this wine ($28 per bottle) is gifted to the Amani Children's Home. The children are engaged with each new release of the wine and create artwork for the new label which is generously printed and donated by Metro Label Corporation, Napa, CA.

The current release is a non vintage blend of 2012 and 2013 red varietals from the Porter Family Vineyard estate and available on our website.

What do Sarasota residents Katherine and Peter Hayes, Jim and Melissa Palermo, Felice Schulaner, and Dennis Rees have in common? Along with Porter Family these extremely generous people have sponsored the annual Amani Children's Home Fundraising Dinner which over the past 3 years have raised $165,000 for the kids at Amani. The success of this program is in large part a result of these generous people totally covering the costs for the dinner. That means 100% of the dinner ticket price goes to support these kids.

The Fourth Annual Amani Children's Home Fundraising Dinner will be held again on March 12th. This year Michael and Tammy Taaffe who have been supporters of the dinner in previous years have generously opened their home for this years event. Although it is sold out for this year, just let us know if you would like an invitation for the 2016 Amani dinner event and we will add you to the list.
